Our group consisted of myself & my husband, my 17-year old son, my 6-year old daughter & my two aunties both in their early 60s (in other words we had a varied bunch to please!) From the outset we knew we had made the right choice by booking Seascape. We had a lovely welcome on our arrival the owners could not have made us feel more at home! The inside of the house is beautiful with lovely wooden flooring & a nautical theme throughout. The property itself being a large friendly family house with breathtaking views - at night we all sat in the upstairs family room overlooking Slade Harbour watching the many fishermen. If anyone in particular was keen on fishing or nature the house is ideally located - on our second night my husband & daughter witnessed a phenomenon at the harbour when thousands of mackerel were chasing sprat into the harbour & the water was bubbling! Only something you would see on David Attenborough - a truly magical event! It was a holiday where you could be entertained easily - only a few minutes away there is Loftus Hall with a tour guide taking you around this haunted house explaining the history. Tintern Abbey also a stone's throw with wonderful gardens & a very old cemetery with graves dating back to the 1700s, run by the OPW you're also given abundant information on entering. About a 20 minute drive away Abbey Golf - a par 3 golf course which my husband & son visited twice great value! In nearby Fethard there was a childrens' playground, a well-stocked Centra & a couple of pubs, Nevilles in particular has excellent food - anywhere we went the food was very fresh & reasonably priced. The ferry is about 25 minutes away in Ballyhack & takes you across the river to Passage East, Waterford which has lots of shops especially the Waterford Crystal shop. The beaches are beautiful & unspoilt & there are lots of them! We spent time in Duncannon & Dunmore East. There are also lots of small sandy beaches within a few minutes drive of Seascape, Sandeel Bay to name but one. Hook Lighthouse is a 25-minute scenic walk away with a lovely cafe/restaurant. The only thing I would point out is that you would need a car to get around but you can be somewhere absolutely beautiful within minutes. A seriously unspoilt part of Ireland, although reluctant to submit my review as I managed to get our week at a very good price!! I would gla
