The location is just beautiful, although the lane is not the easiest drive. The garden is lovely and the house has been done really well, in keeping with its age and style. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The best thing about Kilmacot House is the peace and quiet, glorious. The house is within easy driving distance of nice beaches, Enniscorthy and Wexford town.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kilmacot. It was so peaceful & quiet. We enjoyed watching the rabbits & pheasants in surrounding fields & theres a beautiful view of sunset from back of house. The owner was extremely welcoming & helpful & even provided toys for our son for he week. Due to the distance from main road meant we didn't need to worry about our 2 year old getting into danger & he could run around in the vast space without us worrying about cars or tractors. The house & grounds is extremely spacious & met our needs perfectly. The town is not more than 5 mins drive & has 2 lovely places to eat (try seafood chowder in hotel..mmmm)& 2 good shops. There is also another town 15 mins drive in other direction with more variety. Beautiful clean beach only 3 km from house which is sign posted & not used by many people. 10 mins away from Blackwater open farm which is great for kids & has a nice cafe with lovely staff, a good family day out. We had a great time & would definetly return. Only downfall was bumpy road leading to house but my focus managed it well.
