Wherever you see the 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' you'll know that this hotel has been visited by one of our inspectors who've checked it out and deemed it a really good place to stay.

We know that some dodgy hotels are able to disguise themselves as luxurious palaces on the Internet. So we've taken the time to actually visit what we believe are the best hotels in the most popular destinations to make sure they're as good as they claim to be...

And if they are, we award them the 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark'.

If you see a hotel with the 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' you can be 100% certain that it's a quality hotel regardless as to whether it's got a two, three, four or five star grading. And on top of that, we then cut a genuinely good value for money price - rip-off rates just aren't allowed!

We want you to book your hotel on this website. But rather than try to sell you any old hotel at any old price, we want to remove the uncertainty of wondering if the accommodation is good or bad so you can look forward to your stay without any doubts at all.

Why? Well, if you book a 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' property and you're happy with the hotel and the price we know that you'll check us out again. You see, we're more interested in selling rooms at genuinely good hotels... hotels that you'd be happy to recommend to your friends and family.

And in case you're thinking there's an ulterior motive behind our 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' - we won't be bribed (nor will we ever!) into handing out a 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark'; this is only awarded to those hotels that have managed to meet our strict quality criteria.

So the up-shot for you is that when you see this sign (logo of PTS Quality Mark) next to a hotel you're guaranteed quality accommodation, end of story.

So how does a hotel earn the 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark'?

The hotel must offer:

Genuinely good value for money

We've got price rules in place to make sure that ridiculous rip-off rates won't appear next to any 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' hotel. In fact each of these hotel's prices are checked and then measured by our experienced Rate Managers... if a price breaks our value-scale it doesn't make it onto our website.

Consistently good service

Our inspectors assess each hotel to ensure good service is available at all times. We realise that good or bad service can sometimes boil down to the mood of a staff member so we've introduced guidelines to make sure that our hotels generally do provide a good standard of service. (By the way, we don't think not having your pillows fluffed properly, constitutes poor service!) For example, if we receive more than three complaints about the service of a hotel then it will automatically loose the 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark', no questions asked.

Clean and safe accommodation

Because we've actually visited each 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' hotel we know that they're both clean, safe and secure properties to stay in. While exceptions may occur, if we receive more than three complaints about the cleanliness or general security of a hotel then the 'PlacesToStay Quality Mark' is removed instantly.
