This is a darling coach-house conversion with atmosphere plus, lovely gardens and delightful owners. The nearby medieval village is a gem, we took several days just to explore it alone. And then there's all the other great sightseeing that you can do from this central spot - we only had a week, it wasn't enough time and we well need to return. We will come here again, this accommodation had all that we needed and more plus an open fire for romantic heating even though the cottage was more than warm enough anyway. A great place to stay.
Stunning accommodation and wonderful setting. Perfect for what we were looking for. Hosts were amazing and full of local knowledge.
St Columbs Presbytery is a very nice cottage. Margrett and Mark, the owners, are always happy to provide you with valuable information regarding things to do and to visit. Very nice people. Due to cancellation of our return flight (volcanic ashes) Margrett and Mark left us the cottage for two additional days without payment only electric and fuel chargeable. Many thanks to them.
Loaded with charm and history, this restored stone house has all modern comforts and still manages to be steeped in Ireland's cultural and architectural past. We enjoyed visiting with the geese, kittens, pony and guinea pig on the property and spent lovely afternoons sitting in the thatched-roof gazebo among the trees and flowers. Our interesting hosts pointed us to sights we would never have been able to find on our own - even drew maps for us! We walked to nearby Inistioge for food, groceries, pubs; enjoyed the river and lovely old buildings there. Kilkenny, Carlow and many gardens, abbies, churches, art galleries and scenic vistas were within easy driving range of this location.
