Lovely house and friendly people.
We have 4 kids, and my father in law also travelled with us, giving us 7 in all. As a result we tend not to fit the holiday accomodation/hotel profile without a lot of expense. Using the lodge we had tons of space both inside & outside, lots of bathrooms (so no waiting ),TV/DVD for the kids, fully equipped kitchen for eating in. Access to shops/town was very good as was access to north /south routes. Overall really enjoyed the accomodation and would use it again.
Size of accommodation - spacious front and back gardens - quiet, rural location. House is 7 miles from Killarney and not 6km as stated on website.
Great house - ideal place to base yourself for a walking break in the Reeks. Friendly people, lovely dog and horses and a lovely spot - Recommended
Killarney was a very beautiful location providing many types of walks. Our self catering was very well situated with plenty of room for families. I do recommend however, when booking places that state an extra tarrif for electricity, that you ask for costing before booking as we were staggered at the high cost of electricity for just 2 people.
First class comfortable accomodation. Everything was much better than expected - great view, handy for our sightseeing trips.
Spacious house with outstanding view, very close to Killarney National Park.
We spent three nights at the Kilbonane Lodge and would recommend it to everyone. The house was extremely clean, well equipped and in a very peaceful area. It is perfectly located to see the sights of both the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle peninsula. It is also only 10 minutes from Kate Kearneys cottage for tours, shopping and great food and music. My children loved running around in the yard, visiting the horses and playing with the dog. The rate for the entire house was fabulous and the charge for electricity was minimal. We would definitely go back to the house again. My only suggestion would be to have a sign at the driveway entrance--it's easy to miss, especially in the dark.
Excellent stay overall. Very large house in good condition located with a beautiful view and just outside the busy town of Kilarney. The kitchen was not as well appointed with accessories and utensils as hoped but was excellent otherwise. I would recommend this to a large family or group with 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. Our hosts were extremely nice and accomodating with every request. They recommended places to eat and sights to see. They even gave us eggs from their chickens! I would stay here again when in the Kilarney area.
Great location ... easy access to Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsuala, West Cork and Kilarney. Well landscaped ... perfect place to relax after a day of travel.
This accommodation was excellently placed for touring around the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula. It is well equipped clean and tidy and ideal for two or more families. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or family. What would be useful is an exact location to help find the property using a Sat Nav and a map of Kerry showing Supermarkets etc.
Spacious, luxurious accommodation in a beautiful spot. Attractively furnished throughout, the kitchen was impressive and the bathrooms were superb. Lovely power showers. Magnificent views. We made friends with the dog and Mum was delighted to see bullfinches in the garden, a rareity indeed. I would have no hesitation in recommending this provider to anyone. Excellent value for money.
The location was excellent for us. We didn't have a need to be in Killarney itself for nightlife and its not a long drive to get there. The house is well situated to get to popular tourist spots and in a quiet location with minimal road traffic noise and lots of garden space. The nearest shop in Beaufort only took a few minutes to get to by car. The house was big and roomy so with 7 adults we didn't feel crowded. However there were 2 things that could be improved. The main one was that there were only Irish TV stations available which made TV viewing in the evenings very restricted. In every other house that we have stayed in (over 10 years) , we could get BBC, UTV, Channel 4. In addition to that, the doors were extremely creaky so if anyone moved around at night to go to the bathroom etc., it could be heard in the bedrooms as they are very close together. We oiled them ourselves.
