1. How can I make a booking?

Our booking system is straightforward and lets you reserve live availability after you choose date of arrival and departure, number of adults and room type. We'll then display a variety of handpicked hotels along with a hotel description, photos, location and amenities. Once you've decided on a hotel just hit the 'Book' button for immediate confirmation.

2. Can I book over the phone?

You certainly can! You can contact us at any time by phone and we'll book a hotel for you - AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. Unlike some of our competitors we don't punish our customers for wanting to reserve by phone. Give us a call and we'll sort it for you:

3. Are refunds available if I need to cut short my stay?

Obviously things will happen and plans will change. However, at the moment we can't offer a refund if you need to cut short your stay, unless you inform us of the change before the cancellation/amendment period expires. To reduce the number of nights booked please contact our Customer Care Team. If you are due to arrive within 48 hours, you need to call our reservations team to amend the reservation:

4. And how will I receive confirmation of my booking?

When you hit the 'Book' button, a sequence of technical events kicks off. The room(s) is removed from our live database; the hotel receives your reservation via a direct link; and you are emailed a confirmation page and your credit card is debited the deposit and booking fee. The confirmation page is your booking voucher and needs to be taken to the hotel in order to check in.

And remember, because you've booked through PlacesToStay, you don't need to contact the hotel directly!

5. Will the hotel confirm to me directly?

No. You'll receive a confirmation email when your booking is complete. This confirmation email is from PlacesToStay. If you have any questions about your booking, please get in touch with us immediately.

6. How do I cancel a booking?

If you need to cancel you can do so through the cancellation link within your confirmation email or you can contact our Customer Care Team immediately

7. What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation policy will be 48 hours prior to 18:00 hours, local time at the location of the hotel, on the day of arrival.

8. How do I get my cancellation refund?

All refunds will be credited directly onto the credit card that was used to pay for the reservation. The refund is issued right away by PlacesToStay and should be visible within your credit card account within 10 working days (Processing time at your credit card company can result in additional delays). If for any reason a manual refund is needed then you will be required to provide credit card details as due to the secure nature of our site we do not have access to this information.

9. What if I am not happy with my hotel room when I arrive?

If you are not happy with the hotel room or facilities please bring this to the attention of the hotel management as early as possible during your stay. If you are not satisfied with management's response please call our Customer Care number (this is also printed on your email confirmation) and we'll do our best to resolve the problem to your liking.

In the highly unlikely event of you not being satisfied, you must notify PlacesToStay in writing within 30 days of your departure from the hotel.

10. Is my personal information safe on PlacesToStay?

It certainly is! All information is gathered within a secure site so your name, email address, postal address, phone and fax number, and credit card number are fully protected at all times. Read our security guarantee. It's also worth knowing that we don't share any of your personal information with any outside parties. Basically, we only require your personal information in order to complete your hotel booking and to contact you in case anything crops up.

11. What should I do if I don't receive my confirmation email?

You should receive this email confirmation almost immediately after booking. Please contact our Customer Care Team if you do not receive your confirmation email. We may need to verify that the email address you provided is okay.

12. What details do I need to check-in at the hotel?

You need to bring your booking confirmation (which can be printed at the end of the booking process) or your email confirmation. The hotel will ask you to provide this at check in.

13. I want to stay an extra night - how do I do this?

You can book an extra night by simply informing our Customer Care Team - basically, this will be treated as an extra booking and remember that there is no additional charge for reserving by phone.

14. Is it safe to use my credit card?

15. What credit cards are accepted?

We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, Diners and American Express. American Express can only be used by American and EU Residents.

16. Why is the price different to when I last checked?

All rates are subject to currency fluctuations and so some slight changes in price may occur on a day-to-day basis. Once you book a hotel, the currency exchange rate for that booking is fixed at that date. It's also worth noting that hotels can increase or decrease the selling price of hotel rooms so again, rates can change on a daily basis.

But remember, when you book the price is guaranteed at that rate and you will not pay any extra charges.
