We really liked Beagh Cottage. The owners were very friendly and showed us round despite it being a late arrival. I'd recommend it as a good starting place to visit Donegal and, though rustic, a charming place just to be and relax. Especially given the low light pollution at night and the morning mists that hug the surrounding hills. If you intend to travel in winter (like we did) I have a few additional pieces of advice for you: * Bring warm clothes. There is plenty of heating throughout the house but its going to be chilly generally, the floors in the kitchen and bathroom tiled (which is lovely) but you might want slippers. * Bring towels. Towels are not provided and are somewhat of a rare commodity in shops in the area. * Don't worry about the electricity bill. Having electricity on top of your rental cost might seem steep but we paid 9 Euros for 3 days in the height of winter! (With all heaters blazing). More generally this cottage is exceptionally well suited for touring Donegal. Top sights like the Slieve League Cliffs and Glenveagh National Park are within easy reach by car (Slieve League is actually walkable if you have the day and don't mind a bit of a climb through the Glen Gesh pass). For those travelling by car as we did there are petrol stations in every town open all year round. Many restaurants and toursity shops in Adara are also open all year round. Highly recommended area and a nice place to see it all from.
