Aisling Mitchell from Leitrim went on a really enjoyable trip to Lahinch in Co. Clare last year. She kindly filled us in on some of her holiday experiences. Inspiration for your next adventure, perhaps?
I chose Lahinch as it had been recommended to me by a friend. I had never been there and was really interested in the area.
We stayed mainly in Lahinch but did make trips to the Cliffs of Moher and Doolin, and we also ventured to Father Ted’s house!
Yes, the attractions met my expectations. I really enjoyed our trip to the Cliffs of Moher.
Being close to a town with options for eating out are very important. Outdoor activities and places to see are also important
The house we rented in Lahinch was great. The lady we rented the house from was very helpful. The house itself was perfect: spacious, clean and tidy, and a short walk into the town. It had everything we needed for the weekend.
We met some really lovely people during our trip. Everyone was very friendly – be they shop owners, bar or restaurant staff. We were very lucky with the weather we had during our stay and also got to enjoy the beach.
Lahinch was good value for eating out etc. We enjoyed great meals out and reasonable prices.
Yes I would recommend Lahinch. I think it’s a great place for friends to have a weekend away, but it’s equally great for families and kids, with plenty of things to do and see.
I am going to Turkey in 3 weeks.
I am going for 11 days. I will also try to do a weekend break in Ireland before the end of the year.
I love Bundoran and Rossnowlagh beach in Donegal. I have great childhood memories of spending holidays in Donegal. We still go there every summer- even if it’s just for a weekend. I love the beach in Rossnowlagh. It’s definitely one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever seen.
