Dublin City Centre Hotels…
O' Connell Street is Dublin’s main thoroughfare, so it's a great place to base yourself if you want to be in the thick of the action. Stay in a hotel here and you'll be in a key location for visiting the city's major landmarks, checking out the shops or hitting the town.
O'Connell Street is one of the widest streets in Europe and this grand thoroughfare runs rights through the heart of the city. This street is one of major historical importance and was the scene for the Easter Rising of 1916 and again for the civil war in 1922.
If you stay on or near O'Connell Street you will be within walking distance of most of the city's top attractions, shopping streets and nightlife areas.
South of O'Connell Bridge, just a few minutes walk from O'Connell Street, is where you'll find the vibrant Temple Bar area. This is the 'nightlife hub' of the city and is home to some of the best pubs and clubs in the city. There's plenty of Temple Bar Hotels located here, which are ideal if you want to have it all on your doorstep.
Further south, you'll find Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green and Grafton Street. If you want to be close to Trinity College then look for hotels along Dame Street. There's lots of hotel located around St. Stephen's Green, which are perfect for you if you want to take advantage of the excellent shopping to be had on Grafton Street.
Just off St. Stephen's Green is Harcourt Street – a street known for its nightclubs. The Pod, The Palace, D Two Premier Niteclub, Copperface Jacks and celebrity haunt Krystal are all located here, along with a number of well known disco bars. There's plenty of Dublin hotels located on and near Harcourt Street.
Closeby St. Stephens Green is Merrion Square – one of the finest Georgian squares in Dublin. Some of Dublin's top museums can be found in this area such as the National Museum of Ireland, the national library of Ireland, Leinster House and the Mansion House.
The 02 (previously known as the Point Depot) is Dublin's main exhibition and concert venue and the Irish Financial Services Centre (IFSC) are situated in Dublin’s Docklands. The IFSC is Dublin's financial and business district so if you’re travelling to Dublin on a business trip or your heading to a concert we recommend you stay in this area.
Dublin's old medieval quarter is just south of the River Liffey beyond Temple Bar. There's a lot of hotels to stay in here and if you do you'll have top attractions like Dublin Castle, Saint Patrick's Cathedral and the Old City Walls just a stone's throw from your door.
The best thing about a Dublin city centre hotel, is no matter where you stay you'll be within walking distance of everything as Dublin is a small and compact city.
