This vivacious capital has something for everyone whether it's shopping, nightlife or sightseeing. There's lots of Belfast hotels for you to book. But before you do, read on for some helpful tips and advice about booking hotels in Belfast.
By international standards, Belfast is not a big city. It is compact, so it's easily explored on foot. Most of the city's hotels are located in the city centre so if you choose one of these, you'll be within walking distance of the city's attractions, shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
Choose a Belfast hotel in the city centre
Stay here and you'll be in the thick of all the action. Fantastic shopping, bars, clubs, nightclubs and restaurants will be at your fingertips and within walking distance you'll have top attractions like the Crown Liquor Saloon, the Linen Hall Library, the Belfast Welcome Centre, the Belfast Wheel, the Grand Opera House, the Ulster Hall and Victoria Square.
Belfast Airport Hotels
Belfast International Airport is located approximately a 30-minute drive west of Belfast city. Airlines that operate to and from this airport include; Aer Lingus, Bmi Baby, Continental Airlines, Easyjet and Thomson Airways to name a few. If you want to stay close to this airport, then choose the Park Plaza Hotel Belfast. It's just a 50-metre walk from the Airport so it's really convenient if you've a late arrival or early flight.
The city's other airport is called the George Best Belfast City Airport and it is just a short 10 minute drive from the city centre, so you are probably better off staying in one of the city centre hotels as this airport is not out of the way.
Belfast hotels in the Queens Quarter
The Queens Quarter is located south of the city centre. It is a lovely part of the city to stay in and is noted for its architectural splendour. It is also regarded to be the cultural quarter of the city. It's home to Queens University, the Botanic Gardens and the Ulster Museum.
The Queens Quarter has also a high concentration of pubs and clubs due to the University, so if nightlife is high on your agenda, then this could be the location for you!
Belfast hotels outside the City
If you would prefer to base yourself outside the city centre away from the hustle and bustle, there are plenty of hotels to suit you. Choose from the 4 star Stormont Hotel (4 miles east of city), the 5 star Culloden Hotel in Holywood (5 miles from city) and the 4 star La Mon Hotel & Country Club in Castlereagh (15 minutes from city centre).
Hotels in Belfast range from 2 star to 5 star so there is something to suit every taste and pocket. If you're on a budget and looking for cheap hotels in Belfast then choose 2 star hotels which provide cheap and cheerful accommodation in and around the city centre. At the other end of the scale, 5 star Belfast hotels provide luxurious accommodation but you will enjoy it at a higher price.
