Atlanta is a huge city (3rd largest in the US) so it really is important to do your homework when it comes to picking a hotel.

If you want to be in the thick of it all, choose hotels located in Downtown Atlanta. Stay here and you'll be within steps of shops, restaurants, bars and nightlife. Buckhead is about 8 miles north of downtown and is recognised internationally for it's shopping, especially for its high concentration of designer boutiques.

Atlanta is home to one of the busiest airports in the world – the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. It is located about 10 miles from Downtown Atlanta. If being convenient to this airport is important to you, then don't worry, there's tonnes of airport hotels to choose from. Another advantage of staying at an airport hotel is that most offer a shuttle service to and from the airport.

Choosing the perfect hotel in Atlanta means getting the location right but it also means getting it at the price you are willing to pay. There's a wide range of hotels in Atlanta and they range from 1 star to 5 star. In general, the lower the star rating you choose, the cheaper the hotel. So if you're looking for cheap hotels in Atlanta choose a 1 or 2 star hotel. The higher the star-rating, the more expensive the hotel.
