Top Rock Gigs In Dublin This Summer 2009

The roadies are rolling into town, the crowd control barriers are being dusted down and the amplifiers are being tested as we speak. That's right, the summer concerts are already kicking off so we feature the top rock gigs that'll have the crowds flocking to the venues of Dublin.

U2 At Croke Park Stadium –
The legends of music return to the wonderful venue of Croke Park Stadium for three nights (24th, 25th & 27th July 2009) as part of their 360° world tour. Expect the local lads to rock the stadium to its foundations in what promises to be the most spectacular show of the summer.

Holders of the hottest ticket in town will also be treated to support acts (depending on what show you attend) such as Glasvegas, Damien Dempsey, Kaiser Chiefs, Republic of Loose, The Script and Bell X1.

Oasis At Slane Castle –
The Mancunian rockers will play the iconic Slane Castle venue (it's in Co. Meath, just outside Dublin!) on 20th June 2009. The Gallagher brothers last played Slane Castle in 1995 as a support act to REM just as their meteoric rise to stardom was clicking into top gear.

The lads music has continued to evolve over the years and their latest album "Dig Out Your Soul" is tipped to go down in the pantheons of rock music as yet another masterpiece.

Bruce Springsteen At RDS Arena –
"The Boss" will take to the stage in the RDS Arena on 11th & 12th July 2009 as his "Working On A Dream" Tour makes its way to Dublin. From the dizzying heights of the 1980's to his remarkable re-emergence in this last decade, Bruce Springsteen is a legend in his own right who still puts on a spectacular gig.

That the old favourites will be belted out is a guarantee, the hugely popular new material will also get an airing and the crowd will leave the RDS Arena knowing that they have witnessed one of the true icons of music doing what he does best.

Metallica At Marley Park –
1st August, 2009: Heavy metal fans will have tagged this gig as one of the main events of the summer. Mettallica may have been around since the 1980's but they've lost none of their zest for putting on a live show.

The Marley Park venue in Dublin will be a superb location for the band as they intend on showing the local crowd exactly why they've managed to hold their place as one of the biggest bands in the world.
